Ontario Senior Achievement Award recipients announced for 2003
TORONTO, May 25 - The 20 Ontario seniors selected to receive
Ontario Senior Achievement Awards for 2003 will be honoured at a Queen's Park
ceremony on June 1 attended by both the Lieutenant Governor James K. Bartleman
and the Minister Responsible for Seniors John Gerretsen.
The Ontario Senior Achievement Awards are presented annually to recognize
and honour outstanding seniors over 65 who have made significant contributions
to their communities. Their outstanding voluntary or professional achievement
can be related to any field of endeavour.
The 2003 recipients, listed in alphabetical order, are:
Eric Bergenstein, of Fonthill Jean Mackey, of New Liskeard
Almeda Brown, of Port Carling Heather McCurdy, of Pembroke
Liang Hui Daniel Dao, of Toronto Barbara McVean, of Scarborough
Donald Fisher, of Wikwemikong D. Aubrey Moodie, of Richmond
Cornelia Heyermans, of Ridgeway Audrey Oldfield, of Dundalk
Marjorie Hodges, of Oshawa Bhavin Oza, of Kitchener
Robert Koil, of Etobicoke Ken Thompson, of Sudbury
Sheila Thibaudeau Lambrinos, Walter Tovell, of Orangeville
of Markdale Irene G. Turner, of Bradford
Harry Learn, of Welland West Gwillimbury
Sylvia Luxton, of Bradford Doris E. Wilson, of Waterford
Madeline Dorothy Stanton of Kingston was selected as a recipient in 2002
but was unable to attend the ceremony and will receive her award this year.
