Inquest in the death of Grace Marie Radford announced

LONDON, ON, Aug. 27 - Dr. Thomas Wilson, Regional Supervising Coroner for Southwestern Ontario, today announced that an inquest will be held in the death of Grace Marie Radford. Ms. Radford, 21, died July 12, 2002, from injuries received during the course of her employment at a construction site in Walkerton. Under the Coroners Act, an inquest is mandatory when a worker dies as a result of an accident occurring at a construction project. The inquest will review the events surrounding the death of Ms. Radford and may make recommendations aimed at preventing similar deaths. The inquest is expected to last three days and will hear from approximately 15 witnesses. The inquest will begin at 10 a.m. on November 8, 2004, at the provincial courthouse, 207 Cayley Street, Walkerton. Dr. Rick Mann will preside as inquest coroner and Mr. Michael Martin will be counsel to the coroner.
