McGuinty Government Celebrates Excellence in Education

Nominations are now open for this year's Premier's Awards for Teaching Excellence.

The awards recognize outstanding school and school board staff who make exceptional contributions to Ontario schools, and support, motivate and inspire Ontario students.

There are six award categories that recognize individuals who make a difference in education:


QUICK FACTS

 
  • Starting today, anyone can submit a nomination. The deadline is February 1, 2010.
  • An independent selection panel will review the nominations and award recipients will be announced in the spring.
  • Since the awards were launched in 2006-07, more than 3,000 nominations have been received and over 50 educators and support staff have been recognized.
