Ontario is providing 105 First Nations with the resources they need to strengthen their communities, build their local economies and play an active role in Ontario's prosperity.
Through the New Relationship Fund, Ontario will invest $9.5 million to help these First Nation communities hire staff with the skills and expertise needed to help to improve communication inside and outside their community.
These positions could include people responsible for strengthening links with governments and the private sector, as well as traditional teachers, foresters and economic development officers.
This funding will enhance and improve business and economic development partnership opportunities, helping to improve the quality of life for First Nation communities in Ontario.
"The New Relationship Fund helps First Nation communities develop meaningful consultations and business partnerships. I have seen the positive results first hand and look forward to the continued success of this fund in helping to improve the quality of life for Aboriginal communities in Ontario."
