McGuinty Government Supporting Munsee-Delaware Nation
Ontario is supporting the local economy in the Munsee-Delaware Nation by helping to finish construction of a new small business centre.
The centre will enable local First Nation entrepreneurs to establish businesses in their community and create jobs for members of the First Nation. Construction was previously started, but never finished. Completion of work will start soon and is expected to be ready for tenants in summer 2010.
Several First Nations organizations, departments and businesses have expressed considerable interest in renting commercial space at the small business centre. It is expected this project will also directly generate new short-term construction jobs and ongoing economic benefits for the broader community.
Quick Facts
- The Munsee-Delaware Nation is located approximately 40 kilometres southwest of London, Ontario.
