The City of Quinte West is preparing for the development of a proposed new marina as well as the economic development and tourism opportunities that would follow.
The Bayshore Park Marina would be located at the mouth of Trent River and accommodate about 380 boats. Construction could kick-off in 2012. This project would be an important part of the Quinte West economic development strategy and would help to stimulate the local economy for the municipality as well as other communities along the Trent Severn Waterway system.
The project is contingent on approval under the Ontario Environmental Assessment Act.
Investing in Ontario's local infrastructure, including roads, highways, transit, hospitals and schools is part of the government's plan to create jobs, grow local economies and ensure the province remains strong and competitive for years to come.
"By investing in infrastructure projects, Ontario is rebuilding communities, creating economic prosperity, and improving the quality of life for all Ontarians. If approved, the Bayshore Park Marina would be a great addition to the community. Construction of the marina would also stimulate the local economy by providing jobs and supporting local businesses right here in Quinte West."
