McGuinty Government Announces June Callwood Award Recipients
The Stephen Lewis Foundation's Grandmothers to Grandmothers Campaign of Toronto is among 20 groups and individuals to receive this year's June Callwood Outstanding Achievement Awards for Voluntarism in Ontario.
The awards recognize volunteers for exceptional leadership, innovation and creativity and significant contributions to their community and the province.
The awards will be presented on Friday, April 24, during National Volunteer Week celebrations.

- June Callwood was a Canadian journalist, author and social activist. Her life was marked by a strong concern for social justice, especially on issues affecting children and women.
- This is the second annual presentation ceremony for the June Callwood Outstanding Achievement Awards for Voluntarism.
- Other Government of Ontario events taking place during National Volunteer Week include The ChangeTheWorld Youth Volunteer Challenge April 19 - 25; The Ontario Medal for Young Volunteers award ceremony held on April 20; and five Ontario Volunteer Service Award ceremonies held across Ontario.
