Inquest Into The Death Of Mathieu Labreche Announced

Toronto--Dr. Michael Wilson, Regional Supervising Coroner for North Region, Thunder Bay Office, today announced that an inquest will be held into the death of Mathieu Labreche.

Mr. Labreche, age 19, died on May 16, 2005, as a result of injuries received during his course of forestry employment in the Timmins area.  An inquest is mandatory under the Coroners Act. 

The inquest will examine the circumstances surrounding Mr. Labreche's death. The jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing similar deaths.

Dr. R. Sawkiw will preside as inquest coroner.

Details regarding the date and location will be announced when the information becomes available.
