McGuinty Government Makes It Easier To Find Services And Supports
Ontarians who have a developmental disability are one step closer to having a better, more streamlined way to apply for services and supports.
New regional contact points for adults who apply for developmental services are being created across the province. These regional contact points will be a single window to provide information, confirm eligibility for services and supports, determine service and support needs and link people to services and supports in their community.
The move to regional contact points responds to feedback from people with a developmental disability and their families, by offering a system that is more streamlined and easier to navigate. The one-window approach will eliminate the need to apply at multiple places for services and supports or fill out different application forms.
The nine regional contact points will open for business in July 2011. They are a key part of Ontario's plan to modernize services and supports for people with a developmental disability.
