The South Central Community Development Corporation will use $175,500 in government funding to improve economic planning across the region.
The not-for-profit corporation assists communities in an area from Cambridge in the south to Midland in the North, and from Lake Huron in the west to Orillia in the east.
The strategic information provided by the project will help local communities plan more effectively for economic growth and identify areas where it is advantageous to work together at a regional level - for example on skills development or investment marketing.
"This project is about working with local communities to equip them with the valuable information that is the first step in building a very targeted and tailored economic plan."
– Sandra Pupatello
Minister of Economic Development
"Our organization represents a diverse range of communities with differing economic development priorities. This support will help ensure our partners have access to the best information to make strategic decisions for long-term growth."
– Rick Whittaker
President, South Central Community Development Corporation
