McGuinty Government Partners With Communities To Bring Jobs And Opportunity

The provincial government is helping communities in south central Ontario respond to changes in the global economy.

The South Central Community Development Corporation will use $175,500 in government funding to improve economic planning across the region.

The not-for-profit corporation assists communities in an area from Cambridge in the south to Midland in the North, and from Lake Huron in the west to Orillia in the east.

The strategic information provided by the project will help local communities plan more effectively for economic growth and identify areas where it is advantageous to work together at a regional level - for example on skills development or investment marketing.

  • Funding for this announcement is being provided under Ontario's Communities in Transition initiative.
  • The South Central Community Development Corporation (SCCDC) comprises seven Community Futures Development Corporations (CFDCs). CFDCs are funded by the federal government and support local economic growth by providing business advisory services, access to business capital and strategic community planning.
