McGuinty Government Invests In Regional Growth, Creates Jobs

Ontario is helping a Lindsay-based company to automate its manufacturing process, develop new products, upgrade worker's skills, and expand its market reach.
The province will provide $172,600 to Mariposa Dairy Ltd. through the Eastern Ontario Development Fund (EODF). The grant will help create 11 new jobs over two years. In 2007, the company received a regional Ontario Premier's Award for Agri-Food Innovation Excellence in recognition of its outstanding contribution to farming innovation.
Partnering with business is a key component of the Ontario government's five-point economic plan to grow the economy.

- Mariposa Dairy Ltd. produces soft goat cheese that is sold to food service companies and major grocery chains across Canada and the Eastern Seabord. More than 50 staff are employed in Lindsay.
