Ontario is helping Brantford position itself as a centre of excellence for renewable energy and sustainable living.
The Brantford Chamber of Commerce is developing a business plan to capitalize on green energy opportunities, including those created through the Green Energy Act, and bring investors to the region. The Chamber will develop the plan in partnership with Brantford Municipality and the County of Brant, the Six Nations of the Grand River Elected Council, local power authorities, and local post secondary institutions.
The province is supporting the plan by contributing $24,500 to the Brantford Chamber of Commerce through the Communities in Transition program, which supports economic development projects that will help communities in Ontario attract new investments and retain existing businesses.
"This collaborative effort between Brantford, Brant and the Six Nations Elected Council serves not only to strengthen the local green economy, but also to unite these communities in their common interests."
– Dave Levac
MPP for Brant
"The Branford-Brant Six Nations area is looking to innovate and develop clean and renewable energy sources that will be of benefit to all Ontario."
