McGuinty Government Support Helping Create Nearly 400 New Jobs
Ontario is helping Canada's largest independent software company develop innovative new digital media products, while creating almost 400 new, high-value jobs in Ontario.
A global leader in digital media and information and communications technology, Open Text is conducting research and development into emerging segments of the market, including green computing, mobile applications and high performance systems. These innovations will help Open Text to capture a larger share of the growing digital media industry.
The province is providing a grant of $33.75 million through the Next Generation of Jobs Fund, as part of Open Text's total investment of $225 million over the next five years. The project will create jobs at Open Text's operations in Waterloo, Richmond Hill and Ottawa.
