McGuinty Government Invests In Economic Growth, Creates Local Jobs

Ontario is supporting the expansion of a popular recreation site in Haliburton, which will create jobs and drive tourism.

Sir Sam's Ski Area Limited is expanding its Eagle Lake four-season family resort operations through a number of property and equipment enhancements, including their main chalet, skiing and snowboarding facilities, mountain biking trails, and lifts. The comprehensive development plan also calls for an increase in snowmaking capacity and additional storage space and parking.

Sir Sam's investment of over $1.2 million is supported by a provincial grant of $184,500 through the Eastern Ontario Development Fund. The project will create 10 new jobs and secure 25 existing ones.

Partnering with local business organizations is a key component of the Open Ontario five-year plan to create new job opportunities and promote economic growth in the province.
