McGuinty Government Moves Towards Full-Service Centres

Goderich residents can now get health card, driver's licence and vehicle registration services in one location.

On January 29, driver and vehicle services were moved from 19 Victoria Street North to the ServiceOntario centre on 38 North Street. This ServiceOntario centre was already providing health card services.

The North Street location is open Monday to Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m.

ServiceOntario is integrating health card and most driver and vehicle services so that most Ontarians will be able to make one trip for these services. These changes will give people access to more routine government services and better meet customer needs, especially in rural and northern communities. This will also help residents of Goderich save time, money and gas.

QUICK FACTS

  • Access to health card services will expand from the current 27 OHIP offices to all 300 integrated centres.
  • Address changes, birth certificates and outdoors card renewals are just some of the services offered at ServiceOntario.ca.
  • Nearly 95 per cent of all Ontarians will soon be within 10 kilometres of an integrated ServiceOntario centre.
