McGuinty Government Supports Efforts To Expand Local Economy

Manitouwadge is strengthening its tourism sector and local economy by promoting investment in new public accommodations.

Through support from the Northern Community Investment Readiness (NCIR) program, the municipality will look into how best to attract investors interested in establishing a motel or other types of accommodation in the area.

This project is being led by the Manitouwadge Economic Development Corporation, the Township of Manitouwadge and the Superior North Community Futures Development Corporation.

  • NCIR funding of $15,000 supports this initiative.
  • Manitouwadge also received $25,125 in NCIR funding that allowed the community to promote their existing advantages to potential investors.
  • To date, more than $1.6 million in NCIR funding has been approved for 173 initiatives across the North.
