McGuinty Government Supports Renewable Energy In Northern Communities

The energy production and job creation potential of a proposed solar park in the Dryden area is being examined.

The Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation (NOHFC) is helping the Dryden Renewable Energy Corporation explore the feasibility of a five-megawatt solar photovoltaic park. This project could bring significant economic and energy generation benefits to the community.

This study aligns with the objectives of the Green Energy Act. The act is part of the Open Ontario plan to embrace green technology and support community investments that lead to conservation, new jobs and economic growth.
