New Daycare Service in Timmins
McGuinty Government Supports Young Entrepreneur's New Business
Timmins-area parents have a new bilingual daycare option.
Through support from the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation (NOHFC), La Garderie à Mme. Ashley daycare service was launched in Timmins earlier this month. The home-based business is providing bilingual daycare to children ages one to five.
The new business run by a young entrepreneur will create one full-time job. Supporting entrepreneurs is part of the government's five-year Open Ontario plan to create jobs and economic opportunities in Northern Ontario.
- The NOHFC is providing $14,025 for this project under its Young Entrepreneur Program, which helps northern residents aged 18-to-29 start their own business in the North.
- Since 2005, the NOHFC has invested more than $7.3 million in the start-up of over 300 businesses by young entrepreneurs in Northern Ontario.
“Every dollar we invest in job creation activities not only contributes to the long-term success of the entrepreneur but to the ongoing prosperity of the entire community as well.”
