More than 10,000 commuters are now using their PRESTO fare cards.
PRESTO, Ontario's first-ever regional fare card, is quickly gaining popularity with public transit riders. More than 500 commuters are signing up each week since it was launched this past May.
PRESTO is rolling out on GO Transit and eight municipal transit systems in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area (GTHA), including the TTC.
PRESTO is simple and convenient. It allows commuters to transfer seamlessly with one card across multiple transit systems in the GTHA. Users load it up with a dollar amount and "tap on" when boarding a bus or train. The fare is automatically deducted from the card. This eliminates the need for exact change, tickets or transfers."The Ontario government continues to deliver PRESTO on time and on budget. It's a smart system that connects daily commuters across the GTHA. Improving public transit is part of our government's Open Ontario plan to create jobs and opportunities across the province."

Minister of Transportation
"GO Transit is proud to be one of the partners offering an integrated regional transit fare card system that will make it easier for passengers to use public transit. The numbers show that PRESTO has been very successful with passengers and we look forward to continuing to rollout the program system-wide."
