McGuinty Government Helping Improve Economy, Create Jobs

The sweet smell of expansion is in the air for Hollandia Bakeries, thanks in part to provincial funding.

Provincial support is helping this local food processor to:

  • create seven new full-time jobs, four seasonal and one part-time position
  • retain 36 existing positions
  • purchase state-of-the-art equipment to improve efficiency, resulting in lowered production costs and new product lines
  • reformat packaging for new and existing products
  • increase the ability of company to more effectively compete in Canadian and US markets
  • supply more grocery and retail chains with products
  • increase demand for Ontario wheat and ingredient suppliers.

  • The government is providing $172,800 for this rural economic development initiative.
  • Since 1952, Hollandia Bakeries has been growing and expanding their Ontario bakery, specializing in Dutch style cookies, pies and buns.
