A new meat production facility is coming to St. Catharines, creating jobs and strengthening the local economy.
With support from Ontario's Rural Economic Development Program, New Food Classics will move its manufacturing facility from Calgary to St. Catharines to meet the growing demand for its fully cooked, ready-to-eat meat products. This new location will help grow their business by better connecting them with their regional consumers and distributors.
This investment will create up to 150 new jobs in the short term and as many as 400 new jobs over the next five years. It will also increase the product demand from local meat producers and processors.
A strong agri-food industry is part of the five-year Open Ontario Plan to create jobs and opportunities that will boost the province's economy.
"Thanks to our government's support, this new facility will be a vital asset to Ontario's agri-food sector and its workforce. Investments like these are growing the demand for local food, strengthening our local economies, and creating jobs for our families."
– Carol Mitchell
