New Jobs Fresh From the Oven

Ontario Government Supporting Economic Growth in Food Processing Sector

Ontario is helping a leading producer of baked goods expand to further strengthen the province's food processing sector and create and support more than 1,000 jobs.

The province is providing $1.5 million towards Fiera Foods' total $34 million investment to install a new fully automated freezer to accommodate increased production, and help the company expand into new domestic and international markets. The upgrades will support 1,000 existing positions and create 52 new jobs.

Supporting the province's agri-food industry is part of the Ontario government's economic plan that is creating jobs for today and tomorrow. The comprehensive plan and its six priorities focus on Ontario's greatest strengths -- its people and strategic partnerships.
