Part Of McGuinty Government's Plan To Strengthen Ontario's Economy

Ontario is investing in Toronto's Union Station as part of the government's plan to provide jobs for families now while strengthening our economy for the future.

The provincial contribution to the Union Station project and the new GO train shed roof is supporting nearly 3,700 jobs. The project began in January 2010 and all the Union Station improvements are expected to be completed in 2016.

Over 65 million people pass through Union Station every year. They're on their way to work, or to visit Toronto's many attractions, helping to boost our economy. The revitalization at Union Station will make room for more families and commuters. It will be home to the new Air-Rail Link — connecting downtown Toronto to Pearson International Airport — and it will be integral to the success of the 2015 Pan/Parapan American Games.

Investing in infrastructure is a key component of the McGuinty government's plan to strengthen Ontario's economy and to create jobs for families.
