Statement from Dianne Cunningham, Minister of Training, Colleges and Universities
TORONTO, Jan. 9 /CNW/ - York University students could not have had better news today. We're pleased that the two sides have reached a tentative settlement, which we hope can be ratified quickly so that students can go back to class as soon as possible.
This has been a difficult time for the students at York University, but it is our hope that the York community will now unite and put the interests of the students first.
Providing a high-quality education to students should be everyone's priority. This strike went on far too long, but we're confident that all parties will ensure students receive the high-quality education that they expect.
