Media advisory - Minister Runciman announces winning projects for developing skilled workers
TORONTO, July 9 /CNW/ - Funding recipients for the province's Strategic Skills Investment program will be announced tomorrow as part of the government's plan to ensure employers have the skilled workers they need to compete, grow and create jobs. Minister Runciman will make the announcement at the Canadian Film Centre's annual premiere of New Media Prototypes.
Since the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade's Strategic Skills Investment program began in 1998, a total of 34 projects have received $54- million in provincial government funding. Business and education partners have contributed an additional $156-million. Strategic Skills Investment is a $130- million, multi-year program. It supports projects involving skills development partnerships between training providers and business.
