Lieutenant Governor offers condolences after OPP officer is killed on duty near Kingston

TORONTO, May 26 - The Hon. James K. Bartleman today issued the following statement: "On behalf of the people of Ontario, I offer my deepest sympathy to the family, friends and colleagues of Constable Tyler Boutilier, who was killed on Monday while serving with the Grenville Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police. "Constable Boutilier is the third OPP officer to die tragically in the Eastern Region in the past year. As a member of the Emergency Response Team, he faced unknown risks every day to help people in crisis. Courage like that helps to make our province a safer place. I have the deepest respect for those who serve their communities in this way."For further information: Office of the Lieutenant Governor, Tel. (416) 314-5755, www.Lt.gov.on.ca
