Ontario government discloses 2004 public sector salaries of $100,000 or more

TORONTO, March 31 - In keeping with its commitment to increased accountability and transparency, the Ontario government today released the salaries and benefits of Ontario Public Service and broader public sector employees who were paid $100,000 or more in 2004. The Public Sector Salary Disclosure Act applies to the provincial government, Crown agencies and corporations, and Ontario Power Generation, Hydro One and their subsidiaries, and publicly funded organizations such as hospitals, municipalities, school boards, universities and colleges. The report is published annually and includes organizations that received transfer payments from the Province of at least $1 million or received 10 per cent of their gross revenues from the Province during the previous year, provided the transfer amount was $120,000 or more. The report of public sector employees who were paid $100,000 or more in 2004 is available on the Ministry of Finance's Internet website at www.gov.on.ca/FIN/english/psecteng.htm.
