New date for inquest in the death of Andrew Flexman announced

KINGSTON, ON, Aug. 11 - Dr. Andrew McCallum, Regional Supervising Coroner for Eastern Ontario, today announced a new date for the inquest in the death of Andrew Flexman. Mr. Flexman, 62, died on October 25, 2004, at the Kingston General Hospital from injuries sustained in an accident occurring in the course of his work at a site in Mallorytown. Under the Coroners Act, an inquest is mandatory when a worker dies as a result of an accident at a construction project. The inquest will examine the circumstances surrounding the death and the jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing similar deaths. The inquest is expected to last one day. The inquest will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, August 30, at the Brockville courthouse, 41 Court House Square. Dr. Benoit Bechard will be presiding coroner and Ms. Claudette Wilhelm will be counsel to the coroner.
