Inquest in the death of Wayne Boden announced

KINGSTON, ON, Sept. 22 - Dr. Andrew McCallum, Regional Supervising Coroner for Eastern Ontario, today announced that an inquest will be held in the death of Wayne Boden. Mr. Boden, 58, died on March 27, 2006, at the Kingston General Hospital following a transfer from the Kingston Penitentiary. Under the Coroners Act, an inquest must be held in the death of any person who dies while in custody. The inquest will examine the circumstances surrounding the death and the jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing similar deaths. The inquest is expected to last one day. The inquest will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, December 20, 2006, at the Superior Court of Justice, 5 Court Street, Kingston. Dr. Ross McIlquham will be presiding coroner.
