New and Renovated Schools for Toronto Students

Ontario Investing in Student Success

Ministry of Education

Ontario has approved the building of four new schools and the renovation of eight schools in the City of Toronto to provide students with modern and improved places to learn while creating local construction jobs.

New schools will be built for:

  • St. Margaret Catholic School
  • St. Fidelis Catholic School
  • George Webster Elementary School
  • Avondale Public School

Renovations will be made to:

  • St. Malachy Catholic School
  • St. Paschal Baylon Catholic School
  • St. Ursula Catholic School
  • St. Victor Catholic School
  • St. Eugene Catholic School
  • Sprucecourt Public School
  • Chief Dan George Public School
  • Bloor Collegiate Institute/Brockton High School

  • The Toronto District School Board and the Toronto Catholic District School Board have received more than $1.4 billion in capital funding since 2003.
  • Since 2003, Ontario has invested $12 billion in school infrastructure, including nearly 650 new schools and over 620 additions and renovations.
  • The province recently announced that it has approved more than $700 million in school board capital projects through the 2013/14 Capital Priorities program.
