TORONTO — Today, Premier Doug Ford named Patrick Sackville as his new chief of staff, effective immediately. Jamie Wallace will remain available to support a smooth and effective transition until January 23.
“Since day one of our government, Patrick has been a constant source of support and leadership as he’s successfully stickhandled some of the most pressing and challenging files,” said Premier Ford. “Patrick has my complete confidence and will do great things as the new chief. There’s no better person to take on this role as our government continues to build Ontario.”
Mr. Sackville brings extensive private-sector and government experience to the role. He currently serves as principal secretary, before which he held various leadership roles in the premier’s office. Mr. Sackville also brings a deep knowledge of the province’s energy and infrastructure sectors.
“There are no words to express my gratitude to Jamie for his many years of advice, leadership and, most of all, friendship,” said Premier Ford. “He leaves behind an amazing legacy that he should be extremely proud of, including helping to steer Ontario through the COVID-19 pandemic. I’m thrilled he’ll be leading Supply Ontario next as he brings the important mission of this agency to life.”
Jamie Wallace, who has served as chief of staff since 2019, has been named the new chief executive officer of Supply Ontario, the government agency charged with transforming and modernizing public procurement in Ontario to deliver better value and outcomes for taxpayers and public sector partners.
“It has been humbling and a privilege to serve Premier Ford, his government and the people of Ontario over the past four years,” said Mr. Wallace. “I’m enormously grateful for the partnership we’ve built with Michelle DiEmanuele and our incredible public service. And I couldn’t be prouder of, or more confident in the amazing team now in place in our office to carry on the important work of implementing Premier Ford’s important and ambitious agenda to build a better Ontario.”
Supply Ontario will provide more details about Mr. Wallace’s appointment in the near future.
