VAUGHAN - Merrilee Fullerton, Minister of Training, Colleges and Universities, and Stephen Lecce, MPP for King-Vaughan, welcome students and faculty to the new Niagara University site at the Vaughan Metropolitan Centre, recently approved by Minister Fullerton and the Government of Ontario on the recommendation of MPP Stephen Lecce.

"I would like to officially welcome Niagara University and its students to Vaughan on behalf of the government of Ontario. I am excited that Niagara University is delivering its programs in a new location in Vaughan and about the opportunities it will give Ontario's postsecondary students," said Minister Fullerton.

"I am proud to have strongly advocated for the Province's approval of Niagara University's move to Vaughan," said MPP Lecce. "Our Government's approval of Niagara University in Vaughan will ensure more students can get better jobs and learn closer to home."

Our Government for the People recently approved Niagara University's request to offer the existing bachelor of professional studies in education and the Master of Science in educational leadership in Vaughan. The Government of Ontario alone approves these requests and did so knowing the City of Vaughan would be well positioned to host this campus.

The new location will give postsecondary students more choice on where to go to school, support the local economy and allow students to learn closer to home.

Empowering postsecondary students and giving them more choice is part of our plan to restore accountability, affordability and access to postsecondary education while giving more of our students the opportunity to find a job and build a career right here in Ontario," said Minister Fullerton.
