Madoc Camp and Owner Fined $4,000 for Failing to Comply with a Ministry Order

Belleville - A Madoc camp and owner were fined $4,000 for failing to remove all liquid industrial waste and contaminated soil by an approved waste hauler to a certified receiver, contrary to the Environmental Protection Act.

YiYu (Frank) Ye is the Director of Ontario Corporation 002157409 operating as Crystal Beach Camp Resort Inc. who owns and operates a camp located on Crystal Beach Lane in Madoc. The ministry attended the site to complete an inspection and discovered that liquid industrial waste was on the property.

A ministry order was issued requiring the company to remove all liquid industrial waste and contaminated soil by an approved hauler to a certified receiver. A follow-up visit to the site in confirmed that the company had not fully complied with the order.

The company and Mr. Ye were fined a total of $4,000 plus victim fine surcharges totalling $1,000 and were given 15 days to pay the fine.
