Company Owner Fined $3,000 For Well Water Violations

Kingston - John Jeffery pleaded guilty to one offence and was fined $3,000 for construction work performed on a well while not having the valid licences to do the work, contrary to the Ontario Water Resources Act (OWRA).

Mr. Jeffery repaired the well system, but did not have a valid license at the time.

Subsequently, the matter was referred to the Ministry's Investigation and Enforcement Branch. Following an investigation, the defendant was convicted.

On June 28, 2016, Mr. Jeffery was convicted of one offence, was fined $3,000 plus a victim fine surcharge of $750 and was given 6 months to pay the fine.
