David Lindsay Biography
Mr. David Lindsay brings a wealth of public policy experience and a proven track record in the leadership of public sector organizations. He currently serves as President and CEO of the Council of Ontario Universities. Prior to this, he was President and CEO of the Forest Products Association of Canada and of Colleges Ontario, an advocacy organization for the province's 24 colleges of applied arts and technology.
Mr. Lindsay has extensive experience in the Ontario Public Service previously holding the position of Deputy Minister for the Energy and Infrastructure, Northern Development, Mines and Forestry, Natural Resources, and Tourism and Culture portfolios. He also served as the Principal Secretary and Chief of Staff to the former Premier of Ontario from 1995 to 1997. Following this role, he was President and CEO of the Ontario Jobs and Investment Board from 1997 to 1999.
As the founding President of the Ontario SuperBuild Corporation, Mr. Lindsay oversaw provincial government infrastructure planning from 1999 to 2003. He has also been a Director of the Ireland Park Foundation, the World Wildlife Fund, the Canadian Tourism Commission, the Public Policy Forum, and the Empire Club.
Mr. Lindsay has also served as a Director of several private sector and not-for-profit boards and is a Distinguished Fellow of the Queen's University School of Policy Studies.
