Ontario Ministries Ready To Hire, Help Summer Students

Ontario will help 100,000 students find summer jobs this year through a number of government programs.  Check out ontario.ca/summerjobs to find out more about:

SUMMER COMPANY

Students have an opportunity to get government funding to run their own summer business and get help from mentors and coaches.

SUMMER EXPERIENCE PROGRAM

Various six-to-eight week opportunities are available in communities across Ontario, working for the Ontario government.

ONTARIO GOVERNMENT REGULAR SUMMER STUDENT HIRING

Ontario government ministries and agencies have a variety of jobs for students, ranging from six to 16 weeks' duration.

ONTARIO RANGER / ONTARIO STEWARDSHIP RANGER

The Ministry of Natural Resources hires students, born in 1992, to work for eight weeks out of remote camp locations on outdoors jobs such as hiking trails maintenance and biodiversity projects.

SUMMER JOBS FOR YOUTH

Youth in high-needs neighbourhoods can apply for job training, paid job placements and support after the job ends.  Opportunities are available to work with local police.

SUMMER JOBS SERVICE

This free job search and self-marketing service helps students find summer jobs, and helps employers find students.  A $2-per-hour wage subsidy is available to private and not-for-profit sector employers.

Look for summer jobs in rural Ontario through the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs. The Ministry of Northern Development and Mines has jobs for students in northern Ontario.
