New Regional Senior Judge Appointed to the Ontario Court of Justice

The province has appointed Justice Stephen Joseph Fuerth as the regional senior judge for the West Region of the Ontario Court of Justice, effective May 7, 2014. Justice Fuerth was originally appointed a judge in 2006 and will be replacing Regional Senior Justice Kathleen McGowan.

A regional senior judge of the Ontario Court of Justice exercises the powers and performs the duties of the Chief Justice in his or her region, subject to the authority of the Chief Justice. This includes scheduling court hearings and assigning cases to individual judges.
