New Judge Appointed to the Ontario Court of Justice
Ontario has appointed a new judge to the Ontario Court of Justice. Justice Romuald F. Kwolek has been assigned by Chief Justice Annemarie E. Bonkalo to preside in Sault Ste. Marie, effective March 12, 2014.
Justice Romuald F. Kwolek was called to the Bar in 1983. Justice Kwolek practised at Wishart, Noble and the law office of Gladys Pardu prior to joining the law firm of Orazietti, Kwolek, Walz, where he pursued a general practice, including family law.
Justice Kwolek was a deputy judge of the small claims court and a member of the legal panel of the Office of the Children's Lawyer, representing children involved in family litigation.
Justice Kwolek has been a long-serving executive member of the Algoma District Law Association and member of the executive for the County and District Law Presidents' Association. Since 2011, he has served as chair of the Family Law Bench and Bar Committee for the Algoma and District Law Association, and was presented with the Harry Hamilton award for contributions to the community and legal profession.
He has supported his community as a volunteer and member of the local Terry Fox Run organizing committee and a youth soccer coach.
