Launch of new e-Laws website

Ministry of the Attorney General

Ontario has launched the new official e-Laws website - ontario.ca/laws - to make information about Ontario laws easier to find and use.

Over the past year, e-Laws users had the opportunity to test the new site and provide valuable feedback. This helped inform efforts while refining key features of the site to ensure it is as user-friendly as possible.

The new e-Laws website has several improvements, including:

  • easier navigation between related documents (e.g. statutes and regulations, consolidated law and source law, current versions and previous versions)
  • a cleaner look and feel
  • quick and easy search and browse functions for each law category, (e.g. current consolidated law, source law, repealed and revoked law, and law in force at particular times)
  • simplified help information
  • more accessible for more people, including those who use screen readers

There will be no disruption in service and e-Laws users can still print, download and search Ontario's body of law. New laws will continue to be posted to e-Laws within two days.

The change is part of the Ontario government's efforts to bring online information into one place so that it's faster and easier for people to get what they need.

To provide feedback on the new e-Laws, email e-laws@ontario.ca or use the "Contact Us" button on ontario.ca/laws.

Please take a moment to bookmark the new e-Laws address: ontario.ca/laws.
