New Regional Senior Justice of the Peace Appointed to the Ontario Court of Justice

Ontario has appointed a new regional senior justice of the peace to the Ontario Court of Justice, effective July 3, 2017.

Justice of the Peace Lauren Mary Scully was originally appointed as a justice of the peace in 2011, and since then has presided in provincial offences, adult and youth case management, bail and criminal courts. Prior to that, Her Worship Scully prosecuted cases at the City of North Bay for 10 years, and has also practiced criminal and civil law in the private sector. 

Her Worship Scully studied law at Osgoode Hall Law School. She served as a member of the ethics committee at North Bay Psychiatric Hospital for three years.

Her Worship Scully will replace Regional Senior Justice of the Peace Theodore Ashton Hodgins in the Northeast region.

A regional senior justice of the peace advises and assists the associate chief justice/coordinator of justices of the peace and the regional senior judge in all matters pertaining to justices of the peace.
