New Regional Senior Judge Appointed to the Ontario Court Of Justice

Ministry of the Attorney General

The Honourable Caroline Mulroney, Attorney General for Ontario, has announced the appointment of Justice Jeanine LeRoy as a regional senior judge for the West Region, effective February 1, 2019. She will be replacing Regional Senior Justice Stephen Fuerth.

Justice LeRoy was appointed to the Ontario Court of Justice in 2011. She has been the local administrative judge in London since 2015 and served as a member of the Ontario Association of Judges since 2012. As a local administrative judge, she chaired criminal court management committee meetings and worked to address courthouse delays.

Prior to her appointment to the bench, Justice LeRoy worked as a sole practitioner specializing in criminal law.

A regional senior judge of the Ontario Court of Justice exercises the powers, and performs the duties, of the Chief Justice in his or her region, subject to the authority of the Chief Justice. This includes scheduling court hearings and assigning cases to individual judges.
