The recipients of the Ontario Award for Leadership in Immigrant Employment are:

Tony Bailetti - Ottawa

  • Tony Bailetti is the founder of Lead to Win, a program to develop IT businesses in the Ottawa area. As part of Lead to Win's Born Global program, Tony helps immigrant entrepreneurs grow new companies focused on international exports, build relationships with investors and enter international markets.

Ontario Human Rights Commission - Toronto

  • The Ontario Human Rights Commission released the first policy of its kind in Canada called Removing the "Canadian Experience" Barrier. The policy addresses the obstacles many skilled immigrants to Ontario face getting jobs or professional accreditation because their work experience from another country is not recognized.

Scotiabank - Ottawa - Ottawa

  • Scotiabank - Ottawa is recognized as a community champion for its efforts to integrate skilled immigrants in the workplace. The bank provides internships to immigrants, participates in the Internationally Trained Workers Program, and works with Ottawa's International Talent Acquisition Centre to connect skilled immigrants with local employers.
