Statement by Consumer Services Minister on Ontario's Review of the Condominium Act

Ministry of Consumer Services

Today, Tracy MacCharles, Minister of Consumer Services, issued the following statement on the government's review of the Condominium Act, 1998:

"I would like to thank the Public Policy Forum for its Stage Two Solutions Report of the Condominium Act, as well as all the people who dedicated thousands of volunteer hours to define key issues and create thoughtful recommendations for change. I look forward to reviewing the recommendations as our government develops a plan to modernize the act.

The report will be available for review and public comment for the next 45 days. It includes a summary of more than 100 recommendations developed by condo residents and experts and builds on more than 200 recommendations compiled during the review's first stage.

I look forward to reporting back on the changes we'll make to update the act and am hopeful all parties will work together to move the changes forward."
