Inquest Into The Death Of Petro Vero Announced

Dr. Jim Edwards, Regional Supervising Coroner for Central Region, Toronto East Office, today announced that an inquest will be held into the death of Petro Vero.

Mr. Vero, 51, died on June 13, 2009, from injuries received during the course of his employment at a construction site in Toronto. An inquest is mandatory under the Coroners Act. 

The inquest will examine the events surrounding Mr. Vero's death. The jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing similar deaths. 

The inquest is expected to last 10 days and to hear from approximately 10 witnesses.

The inquest will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, November 29, 2010, at the Toronto Coroners Courts, 15 Grosvenor Street. Dr. David Sedran will preside as inquest coroner and Mr. Michael Blain will be counsel to the coroner.
