Inquest Into The Death Of Shiv Karwal Announced

GUELPH -- Dr. Dirk Huyer, Regional Supervising Coroner for Central Region, Guelph Office, today announced that an inquest will be held into the death of Shiv Karwal.

Mr. Karwal, age 44, died on July 29, 2008, from injuries received during the course of his employment at a construction site in Halton Hills. An inquest is required under the Coroners Act.

The inquest will examine the events surrounding Mr. Karwal's death. The jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing similar deaths.

Dr. Shane Teper will preside as inquest coroner.

Details regarding the date and location will be announced when the information becomes available.
