Inquest Into The Death Of Halit Mutlu Announced

Toronto -- Dr. Dan Cass, Deputy Chief Coroner for Investigations, today announced that an inquest will be held into the death of Halit Mutlu.

Mr. Mutlu, aged 42, died on March 12, 2010, from injuries received during the course of his employment at a construction site in Toronto. An inquest is mandatory under the Coroners Act. The inquest will examine the events surrounding Mr. Mutlu's death. The jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing similar deaths. Dr. David Sedran will preside as inquest coroner and Mr. Jason Balgopal will be counsel to the coroner. Details regarding the date and location will be announced when the information becomes available.
