Inquest Into The Death Of Jeff Munro Announced

Toronto -- Dr. Dan Cass, Deputy Chief Coroner for Investigations, today announced that an inquest will be held into the death of Jeff Munro.

Mr. Munro, aged 31, died on November 7, 2009, while an inmate at Toronto Jail. An inquest is mandatory under the Coroners Act. The inquest will examine the events surrounding Mr. Munro's death. The jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing similar deaths. Dr. David Evans will preside as inquest coroner and Ms. Margaret Creal will be counsel to the coroner. Details regarding the date and location will be announced when the information becomes available.
