Inquest Into The Death Of Andreas Unkerskov-Chinnery Postponed

Toronto -- Dr. Dan Cass, Deputy Chief Coroner for Investigations, today announced that the inquest into the death of Andreas Unkerskov-Chinnery has been postponed.

The family has requested time to seek independent expert opinion and this has resulted in a request from the family to postpone the inquest.  A new date is yet to be determined.

Mr. Unkerskov-Chinnery, aged 18, died on February 2, 2011, at the Hamilton General Hospital following an encounter at his home with the Hamilton Police Service.  An inquest is mandatory under the Coroners Act. 

Details of the future resumption of the inquest will be provided at the first available opportunity.
