Date Announced for Inquest into the Death of Aron James Firman

Guelph -- Dr. Dirk Huyer, Regional Supervising Coroner for the Central Region, Guelph Office, today announced that a date has been set for the inquest into the death of Aron James Firman. 

Mr. Firman, age 27, died June 24, 2010, following involvement with Ontario Provincial Police. 

The inquest will examine the events surrounding Mr. Firman's death. The jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing similar deaths.

The inquest is expected to last 20 days and to hear from approximately 20 witnesses.

The inquest will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Mon., April 15, 2013, at the County of Simcoe Administration Centre, Council Chambers, 1110 Highway 26, Midhurst.  Dr. William J. Lucas will preside as inquest coroner and Shannon Curry will be counsel to the coroner.
