Inquest into the Death of Larry Allan Phillips Announced

Guelph -- Dr. Dirk Huyer, Regional Supervising Coroner for the Central Region, Guelph Office, today announced that an inquest will be held in the death of Larry Allan Phillips.

Mr. Phillips, age 55, died on December 15, 2009, while employed at a construction project in Oakville.  An inquest is mandatory under the Coroners Act.

The inquest will examine the events surrounding Mr. Phillips's death. The jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing similar deaths. 

The inquest is expected to last four days and to hear from approximately 10 witnesses.

The inquest will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Mon., April 15, 2013, at the Best Western, 161 Chisholm Drive, Milton.  Dr. Reuven Jhirad will preside as inquest coroner and Arish Khoorshed will be counsel to the coroner.
